Ojo de Dios Framed Painting

This original art piece was painted by Luis Romero on papel amate, a Mexican handmade paper. It depicts the Ojo de Dios (Eye of God), a spiritual symbol of protection for the Huichol people of Mexico. Each piece is signed by Romero and set in a hand-built, golden-leaf wooden frame with a Maria Luisa mat. Because these paintings are made by hand, they vary slightly in design, color, and size, making each a true original. 

Luis Romero is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Mexico City. Inspired by the faces of farmers and flower sellers, revolutionaries and ritual makers, Luis’ folkloric illustrations are storytellers that convey his deep affection for Mexico's culture and people.
